I'm
a radio broadcaster by trade (hear me weekdays on 939
BOB FM), but have always had a keen interest in photography.
My
first photos were taken with an old Kodak Baby Brownie
camera my grandmother gave me when I was just a kid.
Following
that, a colour Kodak Instamatic X15F film camera was
by my side for many years. Looking through the photos
I took in my youth it seems I've always being drawn
to nature/landscape scenes!
In
the late 90's my film cameras made way for a variety
of digital point and shoots.
In
December 2005, I took my photography to a whole new
level after acquiring my first professional DSLR camera.
I've succesfully completed various courses in portraiture,
lighting, flash photography, wedding photography, and
Adobe Photoshop™.
I
have done photographic work in Myrtle Beach SC, Las
Vegas NV, Cuba, Dominican Republic, New Brunswick, Nova
Scotia, and Jasper National Park; But mostly, I shoot
in, and around my hometown of Ottawa.
After
26+ years in radio, I have a confident, natural and
comfortable approach when dealing with people. A sense
of humour helps put even the most camera shy client
at ease. Your photo session with me will most certainly
be an enjoyable one!
Thanks
for considering John Mielke Photography for your photographic
needs! I look forward to "developing" a long
lasting relationship with you.
